The Manhattan Skyline on Your Feet Ladies!!

Check it Out!

"The Urban Footprint
FOR the opening of his first store in the United States, Pierre Hardy created a sculptural sandal designed to evoke the Manhattan skyline. It costs an eye-popping $1,540; then again, the platform heels are gold-mirrored. Mr. Hardy’s price range starts at $395. (No wonder the designer’s wallet-friendly collaboration with Gap, including wedges for $195, sells out in a nanosecond.) The 1,400-square-foot shop is in a former carriage house in the West Village at 30 Jane Street, (646) 449-0070; pierrehardy.com."

I'm unable to attach a picture, they must have it protected.  You have to check it out though!!

Lola Latin Bistro

Lola Latin Bistro - BYOB - A must visit!!

The pictures above really do not give the food justice.

Bread ~ The cutest little hot biscuits in the box!  Accompanied with a dipping reduction of sun dried tomatoes (chopped very small), garlic, and oil.  So simple, but an amazing flavor!

Appetizer ~We started off with an appetizer special that night, Tuna Tartare.  It was tuna, guacamole, and other goodness, atop a toasted tostado.

Entrée ~ For the entrée I had the citrus chicken with coconut rice ~ amazing!  My mom had the skirt steak and sweet potatoes, the skirt steak was cooked to perfection and the sweet potatoes were very tasty!

Dessert ~ It is available, but didn’t try it.  An excuse to go back real soon!

Check out the website for the menu, directions, and hours!

No Spitting?!

I've seen many "No" signs, No Parking, No Skateboarding, No Smoking, No Standing, No Dumping, No Trucks, but NO SPITTING, that is a first!!

This should get your palate watering!

I made this very simple, from Real Simple magazine, meal last night!

Mobile phone maps for the Mall?!

Wow!  Are you serious, mobile phone maps for the Mall?!

I came across the article, “Finding Your Way Through the Mall or the Airport, With a Cellphone Map” in the New York Times, my most valued source media, social information. For your benefit quoted a lot of the article below and of course my comments slipped in there as well.

“A number of start-up companies are charting the interiors of shopping malls, convention centers and airports to keep mobile phone users from getting lost as they walk from the food court to the restroom. Some of their maps might even be able to locate cans of sardines in a sprawling grocery store.”  “Aisle411, a mobile service that is set to start next month, is hoping to take the detail even further by allowing users to find individual products inside stores. Shoppers in a grocery store can search for “capers,” for instance, and then get a map to the appropriate aisle.”

I guess this would work, if you receive the information in a “jiffy” not peanut butter!  But, the time you type in sardines or capers and wait for the results, you could probably just walk up to the courtesy counter, or ask an associate six aisles down from where you are standing, where sardines/capers are, right?!

“FastMall has a search engine to help users find stores on its maps. Enter “Banana Republic” and the service places a pin on the map to show the store’s location. Tap the “take me there” button and the service plots a route to the destination.”  Now the take me to Banana Republic caught my fancy!  Any mall I’m in, I would like to know if they have “a Banana there!”

“To find the nearest restroom, all users have to do is shake their phone.”  What!!

“Most of the indoor mapping apps are free, like PointInside, FastMall and Micello, which work on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. PointInside is also available for many Android phones.”

Stay tuned for maps “in outdoor destinations like theme parks, zoos and urban shopping districts.
Rodeo Drive
in Beverly Hills, Calif., is already available on FastMall, for instance.”
Please read the rest of the article http://www.nytimes.com/ to find out what plans are being made for outdated maps!

Template Saga Continues......

As you noticed I’ve changed the template once again!  I don’t know, what did you think?  I was sort of getting the feeling that the template was taking over everything!  As my guests you’d be more intrigued, or disturbed by the background, design, then my conversation to you. I want your visit to be a pleasant one, I wasn’t getting that skipping through the fields, with the sun shining bright, cool breeze in the air, and humming the theme song of Little House on the Prairie.  Hmm, do I want you to feel like that when visiting?!  I don’t know, so confused?  Do you have any ideas?  Well, if anything just stay tuned, because I’m going to try to learn more about HTML, and work on designing my own templates.  That should be interesting!

Last Legg - Chicken & Waffles

MUST visit!
Last Legg Chicken & Waffles Restaurant,
Somerset NJ

Today, I finally took a trip to the restaurant after having read their review in the newspaper over a YEAR ago!!  Boy, do I hate I waited so long!!  The food was A..mazing!  I ordered the One Bite (shown in picture), three hot mini bite size buttermilk waffles served with three delicious chicken wings.  "Delicious chicken wings" doesn't give it justice!  The chicken wings were a very healthy portion, crisp just right, and seasoned so well you did not want the flavor to end!  Add to that the great taste of the mini buttermilk waffles; you honestly do not know what you are missing!  I cannot wait to go back home!  Yes, home. That is the feeling I got as soon as I entered the family owned and operated restaurant; greeted with warm attentive smiles, and then presented within minutes an amazing, delicious, literally finger smacking hot meal!

PLEASE do not wait as long as I did!  ACT NOW!  In fact, do not even finish reading this post, just get up, grab the family, and head to Last Legg Chicken & Waffles, Somerset NJ.  Oh, but wait you need the information right?  Here it is:

No new Material!

Sorry, I haven't had any new material for you this week!  Due to the fact I've vowed not to post about how certain people want to live their lives, and also I can't post pictures on those same "certain people" that have no idea their picture would be talked about, that leaves me with no material for you.  And yesterday I came across a goody too, oh boy, guess you'll have to ask me in person about that one!  All I'll say is RuPaul the Shoprite associate, have I said too much......

So, since my material will be narrowed down a bit, then I am going to center on items that I have stumbled upon, or even tips I've come across that I think are worth sharing with you, things again that I think "are something!"

Have you listened to the MP3 clip, "Whip My Hair" by Willow Smith?  No, she is not nine years old?!

Moroccan Oil

So, this post probably most interests the ladies, but you never know might have some of the men folk interested!

I went into Things of Beauty in the Woodbridge Center Mall the other day, which by the way has been open for almost 30 years, that is something! So, I was (ahem) years old when I first started going with Mom! Wow, does time go by! Congratulations Things of Beauty!!

So Mom was looking to buy hair pins and I thought I’d take a look at any interesting hair product that caught my eye. Then it dawned on me that I did want a new hair conditioner, because the one I have seems to sting my scalp, which I think has to do with the sulfates in it. I passed by the Moroccan oil products and remember reading about how good they are on my hair stylist’s website. Moroccan oil is the manufacturer of Argan oil, which you may have heard of. Argan oil is made from kernels of argan tree fruit in Morocco. The oil contains antioxidants, UV protector, and rich in vitamins. Plus, the products are great for all hair types!

The products say after one application it is guaranteed to make hair feel and look healthier. Well, I totally agree! I ended up purchasing the conditioner and the Moroccan oil and it was amazing! Now, the conditioner says a repair conditioner, but I understand that if your hair needs repair it will help fix that, but if it doesn’t need repair it won’t make it any worse, it will work just as a regular conditioner just better. But, I am not a licensed hair stylist, so please consult one that is. So, I used the conditioner, that you only leave in 1-2 minutes and wash out. I could tell the product instantly did something great to my hair! It was so soft and manageable, it was amazing! I then put a drop, literal drop of oil in my hair before blow-drying it and before flat-ironing. I totally recommend the products plus they both have a great amazing scent!

First Official Post

Welcome to my first official post!

I have started this blog, because very often, ok practically every day there is "something" that causes me to say,   "isn't that something?" I've never realized, until a dear friend, she knows who she is, brought it to my attention, that is one of my many coined phrases that I say all.... the ti....me!  So, with that in mind I want to share that something with you!

The word "isn't" in the blog title, for those that don't know, makes up my initials without the "I" and "t" of course.

I would like to apologize to the ones who I've said to them I'd never start a blog......oops, Ah, I started one.

So, whenever you'd like, come on in!  I hope to entertain you and keep you updated on the "izya 'nt that something"?
